I'm looking to add a router lift sometime in the near future. I've got a clone of the NYW router table (RT1000XL), and I'm looking to see if anyone has modified the table to accept the sidewinder router lift. I'm not really seeing a good way to do it other than mounting the crank on the front door, but I don't know if that would hold up well or be stiff enough to crank on. If I can't do it I'll just get the PRL V2 and be happy with that for $30 less. Any ideas?

I have seen the sidewinder at a wood show (and thought it was a cool idea) and would have to agree that mounting it on the front door would not hold up. I own the PRL V2 and LOVE IT - works great and at least two other people that have seen mine are now proud owners also. If you can work out the mounting I would go for the sidewinder - if not, I would get the PRL V2 - either way you will not be sorry.

I mounted one on the side of my table. I was lucky that the cable was able to bend right out my dust port. I did need to shorten the cable but it was easy with a right angle grinder:
