Spalted red oak bowl

This is the piece of wood that I had a chunk fly off the lathe with me a few weeks ago. It was well worth the wait. I have about 10' of trunk left that is real big. I won't let it go to waste. This bowl is about 5" tall and wide. I think I will start to cut up the rest soon. Enjoy, Russell

Very nice. When I first turned oak I thought it was too grabby and scared me. Then I realized I was turning it too slow and needed to rev it up. It's OK now and it's a good thing because I've got a lot of it.
