It would be a great help to new turners like myself if more pictures were posted as in this thread http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?158865-Ash-Vase (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?158865-Ash-Vase)
showing how the wood is located on the lathe to arrive at such outstanding pieces show on this forum by everyone. Do most people hollow end or side grain for their hollow forms, and at what rpm? Sorry for so many questions but I’m just trying to see this in my mind before I start something.

Dwight, there have been several similar threads over the past year or so - and one thread in particular that I recall on this topic. You may want to do some searching. I know I have posted a few threads showing how I started. I believe it was Roger Chandler that asked this same question some months ago, as I recall.
