Just attempted to use my Wagner HVLP for the second time. First time, a few weeks ago -- great results. Today, the spray is uneven. About half the spray pattern is noticeably weaker than the other side. Cleaned the air cap with no improvement.

Seems like the needle and/or nozzle is the next step but a little work involved to disassemble. Before I go that route, anybody experience a simlar problem and solve it?

Did you get the wrench that is necessary to properly clean out the gun? It's used to remove the nozzle assembly. I suspect you have material from "last week" still in there...I believe you need to buy the wrench separately. You may be able to use a small "regular" wrench, but the bent wrench from Wagner (Gleem) is the most convenient as it has provisions for all the different sizes on the gun in one tool.

Thanks. I do not have the wrench but I'll see if I can make do. I take it you are saying clean the nozzle rather than the needle.

Would like to see a post when you configure your remote pot.

Thanks again.

You must thoroughly clean the entire gun after each use and that requires disassembling it. You pull out the "needle", remove the "nozzle" that guides the needle, etc. to do that. You also need to occassionally replace the one-way valve in the one hose that leads from the cup assembly up to the gun proper. It's a good idea to keep replacement valves and cup seals on-hand for that maintenance.
