This is a twice turned piece of Walnut cut from my yard last fall. Size is about 7"x3". Finish is simply buffed and waxed.
Critique are welcome.

That's a really pretty result from what looks like a gnarly piece of wood. Nice job.

Great form and finish but the sapwood and void really make it standout!

Very beautiful piece of wood and with that big void you still got it done, nice job.

Josh, excellent work on this piece! Nice character to the walnut - voids, great figure, and sapwood all combine into a very interesting turning. Looks like you had enough wood to get a finished turning, too. Having done only two of these "twice turned" one can come up short on thickness - you did good!

Really nice. Love the blend of heart and sap wood. Good job of keeping it together.

Josh - good looking hollow form! As already mentioned - sure is some pretty wood! Kinda fun turning these things! At first you are a little leery - then you get to the point where you take control...

Nice work! You should be proud of this one! Keep up the good work!

Nice piece Josh. The wood looks really good. These large void pieces are scary looking.

This is sweet. One nice thing about turning hollow pieces from wood with huge voids is that you can see where your tool is when you are working on the inside! It can be a bit unnerving.

Great looking HF Josh!! It is with out a doubt a one of a kind piece of wood. You did a fine job of showing it off!

Very nice job! You brought the best out of that piece. What is meant by "twice turned?"

Rough turned thick while green, let dry for a time and re-turn to thinner and finished.
