Jet planer JWP-20

Does anyone out there have a Jet JWP-20 H planer. If so how good of a planer is this machine. Also are parts still availible.

Does anyone out there have a Jet JWP-20 H planer. If so how good of a planer is this machine. Also are parts still availible.

I don't have one but most parts PROBABLY are still available from Jet (WMH). That is a solid machine if it hasn't been abused. It has segmented infeed rollers which is significant to me at least. It is far more substantial than the generic 4 post 15/20" planers. I see them at auction fairly commonly but a lot of them have been tortured in production environments it seems more common to see tired examples of the 5hp version, the few I have seen with 3hp motors seem to be in better shape but in either event I would say be wary of abuse. Larger heavy duty planers seem to be like widebelt sanders as many were in production and rarely get sold unless they get really tired but just like WB sanders there are some cherry examples out there.
