I ran across this link on another woodworking forum. Reminded me of the slab of Bubinga Todd Burch had some time ago. I know Todd is busy these day but Todd, if you see this post I would be curious to know if you ever made that table.

WOW, Hope Todd doesn't see this.

Makes a huge (for me) bubinga board I bought a couple of years ago look like a toothpick. My board was 17 inches wide, 1 3/8" thick and 16 feet long. At the time I paid a little less than $200 for it. I have about 1/3 of it left and I have sold enough stuff made from it to pay for the board many times over...

Hi Rich,

I've been waiting also for Todd to show the finished product. The picture below is of me standing in front of one of the slabs Todd purchased.

All the best

I still have the two slabs... they are still waiting for me to get to them. I have one table to deliver by mid February - so I really need to get on it ASAP. The other top is sold, but the customer hasn't made up his mind what style yet (the original "which oval shape" thread).

I'm wondering how you MOVED that big slab. It makes my back hurt just looking at it.

The two slabs I bought, after figuring bf/cost, customs, hassles with customs, shipping, packaging, pickup and crate disposal, about $1,000 each. They weigh anywhere from 225 to 250 each. I can move (slide) one at a time as long as I have a helper (my 14 year old son, for example,) keeping it balanced upright while I shift my weight and reposition for big shoves.

Delivery will be tough, but they will be smaller by then.

WOW! Those slabs are AMAZING! Man, wood sure is beautiful, whether it's the small quilted stuff or these huge slabs, I love it all.

Thanks for the link.
