I was contracted by the head of my company's Engineering Dept. (my boss) to make a no-frills display box for our booth at trade shows. It was to be 24" square with enough room for our pump modules to sit under the plexiglass cover. It looked to ma that if I left ~3" it would be good.
The Box was made from Poplar and all they required was a piano hinge on one side and nothing to hold the lid up or any latch at all. It is not to be a secure display, just one to help keep our very expensive ceramic piston pumps from being handled and damages as much as they presently are. These pumps are mainly used in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
