I think I finally found the right dimesions and overall style for the more traditional rattle. Walnut and maple filled with beans. 6.5 x 1 11/12ths.The circular one that looks like a donut is cherry filled with ball bearings. 4x 1.5".Both finished with mineral oil/beeswax. Thanks for looking.

Being an old 70's rocker...I really miss cowbells. The rattles are great...the cherry is an outside the box idea!

Very well done, Kieran. Both are exceptional but I'm particularly fond of the walnut and maple combination. Looks like you perfected your router jigs. Thanks for posting.

Nice work on both of these Kieran! Really like the Cherry - takes all the worry about what the kids put in their mouth!

Also - appreciate the Christopher Walken SNL reference - had to laugh - great skit!!!

Thanks Steve. Agree about the skit. One of the classics. Probably only us old timers can appreciate that one!

One of the classics!

I agree and figure it should be required viewing!!

I've got a fever, and the only cure is more cowbell... Nice rattles especially the donut version.

Ball bearings you say? Everything is ball bearings these days.

I think both rattlers look great, though somehow the traditional style appeals to me the most, thanks for showing/posting ;-))
