Bird House

This is my latest bird house made from some leftover staves from making travel mugs. It is maple that was carved using a bit in my Dremel tool, then dyed red, sanded lightly, and then black dye was wiped over the top for highlighting and to mute the red a bit. The top is basswood that was burned to look like shingles. The bird house was then finished with an exterior poly. It is about 6 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide. It was a fun project.

Thanks Bernie. I will actually be taking this one and others to a consignment shop. The ladies there love the bird houses and sell everything I can make. I used the exterior poly just in case the buyer wants to use it outside, it's their choice.
