Can S-Video and Fire wire cables both be used to download video from the camera to the computer? I realize you would only use one or the other. Is one better than the other? Thanks, Sean

With the S-Video cable, you would be doing an analog transfer, and would need to have a video capture card in the computer to receive the data. With firewire, you are transferring the already digital image as is. The only reason you would do the S-Video is if there was no other way - i.e., your camcorder is analog and doesn't have any way of sending a digital image.
