I just bought the 42690 for $9.95 + shipping from Seven Corners Hardware. I called 651-224-4859, hit "3" (I believe) for woodworking tools and asked the guy for the in-store price for the 42690. Their web price is about $30.

I can't remember the man's name, but he was super nice and the whole transaction took maybe 3 minutes. I originally heard of this deal on Woodnet.

Did anyone else jump on one of these?

I did - called yesterday morning. When I said I was calling about something I saw on the internet, he knew immediately what I wanted.

Thanks for the notice.

Fooey! It won't fit my 890. Or at least it doesn't say it will.

I bought one around noon PST yesterday.

Read about it on Bargain Alerts on the BT3000 boards.

I think Amazon is selling them for $44

A few people with 890s have said they already have this and it fits. I have an 890.

I waited too long (hard to call from work, waited for a paycheck). Still, their internet price ($29.99) is better than I have seen elsewhere.

I haven't used my 890 a lot yet, but it looks like if a device fits a 690, it'll fit an 890. 2 screws to remove the height adjusting rack and the 890 motor will fit any 690 base. Thankfully Porter Cable appears to not have been so STOOPID as to produce a 690 replacement that won't use 690 accessories.

Hey guys, just tried to order one but they are all sold out and you can't get one on backorder at this price. A day late and a dollar short.

Good price. I have one for the 690 and also 7500 series. Think they were $40.00 each a few years ago.
