I have a compound meiter saw that has rear port that is somewhat larger than 2 1/2 inches. I cannot find any good way to connect it to my vacume system which ends 4 inch PVC. Rockler's dust Right handle is too heavy. Has anyone tried connecting 2 1/2 hose directly to an oversized port ? Any other ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

Kevin,
Is the dust port on your MS 3"? There are flex hose and adapters for the various sized ports. If I understand your issue, you could run 3" hose from your dust port to a 3"-> 4" adaptor, then to your existing DC.

To fix my issues with ~2.5" hose connecting to a 4" DC I bought a 2.5" to 4" adapter coupling from local woodworking store. Since the 2.5" input on the adapter I bought wouldn't fit exactly, I ended up getting a 2.5" RUBBER coupling from the drainage dept of a home improvement store. The rubber coupling could expand or contract since it's flexible and uses metal screw type clamps to form an airtight seal. This method worked welll to get a 4" DC to connect to my miter saw and to a portable jobsite saw.

What comes off your meiter saw dust port? A hose or the adaptor?
Thanks
