Orderd my powermatic 3520B Monday-received on Thursday-I have got it most assembled today. just need to run wire!
Did it all by myself-yankee ingenuity or stubborness!!! Got it done.:)

There is A LOT OF CAST IRON in that lathe so I used a small block and tackle to do the heavy lifting.

Brian:

What a beauty! Where did you buy the lathe? how was delivery handled? I'm looking to upgrade this year and delivery is a concern. My shop is in the basement so I have to take it down there in pieces. Can't wait to see your first turning off this beast!

Bought lathe from craft supplies usa- great people to talk with. Their customer service folks are turners so they know what you are talking about!

That is one great looking lathe. If I ever get good enough I will have to jump into one of those myself. What did you have before that one??

Looks just like mine! Congrats on a fine new machine.

With all the "RVUs" ortho generates, I had you pegged as a Oneway guy!

Looks right at home, and you will love it. Got mine at CSUSA also, and heartily agree about their knowledgeable and helpful staff. They also match competitors' online pricing on lathes, so no reason to give up service to get a great price.

Congratulations on the lathe and using "Yankee Ingenuity"!:) The block and tackle my grandfather used to raise hay in the barn in Dayton, raised many of the timbers in my house 60 years later. I still use it.

I took a class with Jimmy Clewes. He had 3 or 4 PMs and a Oneway. I spent all my time on the PM. Not sure there is really a "need" for any other machine. You will have good experiences with it.
