Shop Notes issue 99 has an interesting box joint jig as an accessory to a cross cut sled for table saw. It uses a precision micro adjuster from Rockler to fine tune the jig for tight joint fits. I am thinking of modifying this sled/box joint jig for use on router table.

I want to cut 1/4 inch box joints. How do I fabricate an index key that is precisely 1/4 inch thick? Maybe use epoxy and glue in a 1/4 inch rod? or brass set up bar?

Anyone using Rocker's micro adjuster?

Doug Stowe drills a hole in the fence and sticks the drill bit in. Perhaps, that would work for you?

Go look at the Rockler router table jig. They do not use a adjustable pin, they move the whole jig and use a fixed 1/4 in rail.

With it, you put a 1/4 inch block between the bit and the rail (blue bar) and that is the way you set it.

Blow the image up to the larger one.
