I made this stand last year for my Nova DVR XP & now I finally got around to building some storage drawers to go under it. The stand has 6 bags of sand down in the bottom for weight/stability. The frame is 2X8 at the bottom and doubled 2X4 construction everywhere else. I put a plywood skin around it for added rigidity and made a 2-compartment case for storage. The top is part of an old solid core door from a bank that was remodeled.

The new addition is the shelves in the case. 22" wide, 18" deep, various heights, 100# heavy duty full extension self-closing drawer slides. The drawers are from 1/2 Baltic Birch plywood with 1/4" bottoms and 3/4" Baltic Birch fronts. I made the drawer handles from Oak. Next up: a lathe tool rack. For now, most of them live in the top right hand drawer, the others are on the top right of the stand.

John, that is a great looking unit. Makes use of space well, and the rest of the shop looks comfortable as well.

The only thing I see wrong with that is its not under my DVR! Great job.

Hi John,
I have just recently acquired a DVR without a stand. Do you have plans for your stand that you'd be willing to share?
