Hello,

I have been lasering black carbon PE material to make membrane switches but I am looking for something more conductive. The carbon PE is listed at 1000 ohms/sq surface resistivity. I'm looking for 100 ohm/sq or less.

Metal foil can't be laser cut (at least not with what I have)

Does anyone know of a product I can try?

Cover (paint) the foil with an absorptive material (ordinary rattle can black paint works well)... foils can be cut that way.

Welcome to SMC.

Absent somebody's recommendation I suggest you call Synrad's engineering dept and they can tell you almost instantly.

Ben, I'm familiar with the construction of conventional membrane switches (conductive inks screened onto polyester film) but you are obviously doing something a bit different. What shapes are you cutting the sheet? And how are you currently making electrical connection to the carbon PE sheet? If you elaborate on the construction, perhaps it could generate more ideas.
