This Pen was made from Ancient verified River Red Gum recovered from 60 metres under a disused sand quarry. Full of figure but too deep for my skills to photograph the detail.

The metal figure to show Skiprat my friend was a found item.:D

Pretty cool way to display your new 40,000 year old pen! Hard to tell in the photo but it looks like the wood absorbed a lot of minerals because it sure is dark!

Very nice again Peter. I'm still holding on to the 30k piece you sent my way-can't quite convince myself to mount it up yet.

Peter, you guys sure have some amazing woods, with amazing history to them. Perfect conditions for preservation.

Not sure how I missed this, but it's a good looking pen. I guess this is similar to the bog oak found in the UK... Never had the pleasure of turning any of it, but I love the look and the story behind it.
