This hollow form is from a walnlut crotch. It was hollowed by hand with a Sorby rs2000. It ended up at 4 1/2" tall and just about 4" wide at the widest point. Sanded to 400, home brew oil, and a couple coats of WOP, buffed and ren wax.
Thanks for looking, C&C welcome

Nice work and you nailed the classic Jar form! Sure is some pretty wood!

Probably not what you had in mind but taking Steves thought a bit further, turn a lid and you would have the nicest looking cookie jar in town. Only a kids hand could get to the cookies though so probably not a good idea. Beautiful piece of wood!

Great job on a beautiful piece of wood. I like the shape, and the bead on top is just right!

Steve, some very nice looking walnut!! I agree with Baxter - a lid with a simple knob would really work with this piece, but it is very nice as is. Not sure I like the idea of a cookie jar with an adult proof lid!!!!:D:D
