Looking for books/mags on energy efficient/green building

My wife & I are considering building a new home in the next year or two and I'm looking for ideas on how to build an energy efficient home. I'm looking for info on things like passive solar, insulation, heat pumps, radiant heat, etc. I'd also be interested in "green" building info like alternative materials, rainwater capture, etc.

I'm not a builder or engineer, so this has to be layperson-oriented. I'll ultimately hire an architect but I want to learn as much as possible before I get to that point.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome.
