Commission for a client who saw one I did a while back.
This one is made from Eucalyptus and turned end grain so the grain travels through the stem. I leave the walls somewhat thick so it feels heavy like a real pumpkin.
Overall it's 8" to the top of the stem and 7" diameter. Finished with Deft Spray Laquer

John, that is fantastic!! The carving work and detail on the stem is perfect, and you did an excellent job on the dye work, too. I would have been horribly tempted to do a jack-o-lantern cutout!!!! Glad you had more restraint!

That is very impressive, did you carve the stem all by hand?
