Received a "third place" for a walnut vase in an art show yesterday. This was the only wooden item accepted into the show (mostly paintings, drawings etc). There was a nice cash award with 3rd place.

Way to go! It's a beautiful vase. I'm not at all surprised it was awarded a prize.

Your vase certainly did earn the recognition, though it is often very difficult to get turnings accepted as works of art, congratulations Dennis well deserved :D

Wow! Great news! Congrats on your winnings! I agree with Leo - very hard to even get accepted to art shows, let alone win!

First off Congratulations!

What a nice piece, guess they had good taste at the show. That is a beautiful piece with all the movement and at 14" tall x 12" I'm sure it stood tall and proud. I have a piece to get ready for a show at a museum this week that I'm hoping to get in . . . good to see more of us doing this. It looks like the art community might be taking wood turning work a little more seriously.

Again congratulations Dennis!
