I didn't think I'd get it done in time for xmas but I pulled it off. Rhoads V inspired guitar. Poplar body. Experimental birch/walnut laminate bolt-on neck. Indian rosewood fingerboard. 25.5" scale. 10" radius. "Hammered steel" paint finish (to help hide flaws http://woodtalkonline.com/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif ). Mighty Mite "motherbucker" high output pickup. Wilkinson locking tuners. Hand cut graphite 43mm nut. Hardened steel non-tremolo bridge. Dot inlays are made from this 1/4" transparent red plastic rod I've had for awhile. I'd cut off a tiny bit and paint the back silver. They are about 1/8" deep. I thought they came out pretty cool looking though you can't really tell in the pic, kind of 3d looking. It plays well and sounds surprisingly good! Well rounded yet powerful sound. The neck is shaped after an old Strat neck I've been lugging around since I was a kid. Its cheap but I've never played a neck I like better. I made this for my little brother who loves playing heavy melodic death metal (In Flames type stuff). Tuned and intonated 1/2 step down. Hopefully it doesn't fall apart or explode http://woodtalkonline.com/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

The pickup looks a little skewed in the pic but it must be the angle I took the pic at because it measures good from the neck and bridge... weird

Looks great! I love Randy's playing, good to see his influence is still alive. :)

I sure wish you were my "big" brother. Show us a pic of his smile while playing it.
