Five Branch Bowl

I just can't seem to pass up an interesting looking crotch piece in someone's firewood pile. This bowl has at least 5 pith centers from branches growing together and some included bark. Not sure how or why it stayed together, expecially when it came loose and flew across the shop during the bottom clean up. It went to a charity auction for a local school. I offered to replace it with a new bowl if it comes apart with changes in humidity.

I have to agree with everyone . . . very interesting to say the least. I love how all the branch rings just swirl around the areas. Great job keeping it together and even greater person for offering to replace it if it did come apart.

Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately this is the only onther photo I have of the bowl. I have been planning to set up a photo tent and did not take photos the day I finished it. The woman from the charity auction called to see if She could pick it up and came over right away. I just tossed it on the back of the sofa and took two shots.
