Could anyone tell me if this RAS would be worth the money? I'm looking to get one but don't have thousands to spend on an Omga. Thanks alot!!!!

I would at least take a look. It could be a diamond in the rough. That should be a very solid saw and if it still runs....

Calvin,

I would love to have a RAS but....this one according to the person listing it uses a 9" blade. If it really does, getting blades might be a pain.

If someone with some exprience doesn't reply you might try asking at the Old Wood Working Machines forum. I'm sure they have experienced folks over there that cut their teeth on this saw.

Thanks alot for the feedback already! I was curious about the 9" blade as I've not really seen alot of them around. Seemed like an odd size.

Calvin.......it could be the lister is wrong......and it could be that's the size it takes. I am sure someone at the other site I mentioned could tell you. They specialize in the old power tools. The next question is the motor any good and if not, can you get a replacement?.....

9" blade sounds right.

The saw is solid, but I hear they can be "slightly" underpowered.

Any OLD Dewalt with the elevation handle on top of the rear column is worth getting.

I'd go for no more than 100, and I would offer $75 to start.

The guy says he doesn't want to mess with it, last RAS I bought where the seller didn't want to mess with it...... I paid $5.00

Course my current RAS cost me $400 though

Hmmm.... Those are some good questions Ken and I'll check out that other site too. You are a wealth of knowledge, thanks again!

Thanks Aaron! I'm thinking about replacing my Miter saw with a RAS just for 90 degree cuts since I do alot of cabinet work. It would be easier than crosscutting everything on my TS.

No problem, glad to help.

You HAVE TO check out the owwm dot com site

They have all the old DeWalts on there and most of the guys got those 9" MBF models for about $100 in used condition

I believe Forrest has a 9" blade for a RAS as well.
