Hi,

I'm basically new to the Creek although I have been reading quite a bit of the posts here. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people here. That being said I am interested in building a mobile cart for my TS and found 3/4 sheets called tigerply. There website say's it is manufactured with only hardwood core veneer. They are based out of Portland, OR so I am wondering if this is the stuff made on manufacturing ships. I am aware of the material made from South American Pine and this is not the same. It is on sale for only 29.00 a 4x8 sheet. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Don Z.

Found this on the web: http://www.tigerply.com/ It's their own site. And also found this by the folks that make it: http://www.shelterforest.com/TigerPLY.Article.pdf

Google Tigerply and you'll get a lot of hits.

And, BTW, welcome to Sawmill Creek.

Thanks Jim,

I had already been to there website so I guess my question should have been, does anyone have 1st hand experience with it? Is it stable enough for making cabinets or does it warp once cut like some of the other budget plywood?

These guy's are in South Bend (you could call the store)

They tell me if they don't carry it, they'll get it.

Worth a call:

Oops, you posted more: I'd call and ask these guys your questions.

They carry TigerPLY at Menards here in town. Some of the sheets on top look somewhat like potato chips, and the face veneers look rather thin.

i see that Menards has Tigerply on sale again and since i dont live nearby to just go and look at it im wondering if the
stuff they have on sale is any of the good pieces?

im new to woodworking and have not bought any good plywood yet,
i was going to get baltic birch for the strength and good looks but the Tigerply B-core or C9-core looks really nice.

what is everyones opinion on Tigerply? looks like i can buy 2 or 3 sheets of this compared to baltic birch?

My supplier tried selling this brand before and had to practically give it away. I tried some and would never use it again. I don't remember which particular grade it was, but the veneers were separating an awful lot and it was very wavy. But this is only one lot from one supplier trying out a new vendor. YMMV
