Last week I turned this using the chuck plate I designed just to see if a full round log could be done with it. I turned the tennon, removed the CP, and then chucked it and turned until the tenon broke. Up until then, this project was videoed. I glued the tenon back together, and finished it to this point. After turning, I took the tenon of with my jointer.
White Cedar, 6" diameter, and 10" long.. The bowl is 3 1/8" deep.
Not much scares me, but I got spooked near the last 2" near the natural edge when sanding.. No finish. My better half took the pic with the cereal as a joke for a friend of hers

That takes natural edge to a whole new level. That is awesome.

Very interesting bowl, I like it! By the way, such a good looking bowl deserves granola not just plain old Cheerios.:D:D

Very interesting piece there Jerry! Glad to see you're spinning wood again! That chuckplate of yours seems like a handy gadget for sure.
