If it works like the pricy models in the catalogs, how much would you charge to make one of these puppies for me? Thanks.

Jeff, I would say that should do the job! Very similar in concept to many of the tools out there. Jeff Nicol makes up a tool that is similar. About the only concern I would have is the diameter of the shaft. Most of the hollowing tools seem to have a minimum of a 5/8" shaft - some 3/4". But, depending on the depth of hollowing, this one should work fine.

Jeff, I see that you tool the step and made a small hollower. I would mafe the cutter a bit smaller, more of a teardrop shape so you can use the small end for cutting and the rounder end for shear scraping for finish cuts. It should work like mine but for shorter hollowing like you intend it for. You will have to step up the shaft diameter when you go for the 20" deep vases and HF's!

Have fun and see you around the shop again soon,

Jeff

I give credit to anyone who can make their own tools! Nice job! Let us know how well it works once you get the chance to use it!
