I don't know if this counts as a gloat, as I've only turned cedar once before, but I was able to score a lot of it now. 177208

Yep, it's a blatant gloat. You suck. Enjoy!

Love the smell when turning it.

Nice looking material. I am not sure who cut it to length, but around here very often when a tree is taken down professionally, it is cut to "firewood length" (Ugh!). If I become aware of the tree's demise beforehand, I get it in log lengths. Some times, my contractor friends even drop the logs off in my yard. I love to turn cedar

It's pretty stuff and readily available around here... Not my favorite turning wood, but it's pretty and the smell is fantastic. Congrats.

Ya I have a boat load of it too. My parents live in Bastrop, TX Mesquite and Cedar are very plentiful. Have fun it will make your shop smell like hamster cages. :D

Nice haul, just don't be too upset with the cracking/checking because it is gonna do it no matter what.

Congrats on a nice haul. I love turning cedar. Makes the shop smell so good. Also one hint when you turn it be careful when sanding that you don't apply to much pressure to cause heat. You can be assured cracks will appear with it much more so that other woods.
