I know the Porter-Cable 890 router comes with a 1/2" collet, but can you also use a 1/4" collet? I'm thinking of getting the 893 package but I have several 1/4'' bits that I use with both of my leigh jigs.
Also my best price so far is from Rockler at $250. Anybody know of a better price?

Woodworker Supply @ Woodworker.com has PC 890 series at $179. Good outfit to purchase from.

I got the 895PK kit with the fixed and plunge base for $229 from Coastal Tools. The kit also comes with the wrench to adjust the bit height from about the router table and both the 1/4" and 1/2" collets. So far I adore that router. Zero complaints.

Didja know that a 3/8" collet is available for the PC routers. Just thought I'd add that.

So is an 8mm which is nice for Leigh users...

Jim,

You might try www.toolseeker.com--it's a good site for comparing prices.
