I am working on cleaning out some old blanks and found this block of Pecan today.
Lots of grain and a few curves. This block was dry----I ain't a big fan of turning dry wood--- to much saw dust.

Nice one, Gary! Since I prefer dry wood, you could just send all the dry stuff to me!!!

Those are nice Gary! You have shown us some very figured wood lately, and we appreciate it! I was wondering about the inside of these you have shown us. Are they all hollowed............the pics have not shown the top or I don't recall if you mentioned hollowing on the other posts. Could we see some pics of the top and hollowing if you can? :)

Another nice one Gary! I've heard that Pecan can be tough as nails when dry. Was this one any harder to turn than dry Oak or Maple? Just curious...

Steve I really like Pecan or that would of been firewood. Turning end grain made a bunch of sawdust.

I can't imagine hollowing dry pecan end grain that deep... That makes my arms sore just thinking about it. Nicely done.
