My neighbour asked if I could help out with her minature house and we came up with some ideas for the foundations, steps, paving and chimney
We decided to use balsa wood and see what happened.
The limestone blocks that form the foundations, the side of the steps (blocks) and the red coloured paving where lasered from the balsa. The blocks and the red bricks on the chimney were also lasered.
The balsa was then glued to the basic shape.
I am thinking of doing the a similiar thing with the inside drapes, laser some balse to teh shape and then cover with thin material.

Pretty nice! How did you treat the surface? Did you engrave the stone effect or is that raw balsa grain? Looks like a real classy dollhouse too.

Hi David
The texture is engraved as well. I used the fill tool from Corel X4 - texture fill - red brick - and altered it until I arrived at a texture the lady wanted. You're right, it is pretty classy. Even the inside lights work. If I can get a photo of it I will post
