I received a gift certificate to Barnes & Noble and was looking for a reccomendation on a woodworking book....anyone have any suggestions on a must have book?

There are so many good books out there it's hard to recommend just one. Two of the ones in my library I really like are "Shaping Wood" by Lonnie Bird and "Illustrated cabinetmaking" by Bill Hylton.

That is how someone would have to get my Finishing by Jeff Jewitt, Taunton PressISBN 1-56158-592-0
In the introduction Jeff suggests you keep the book in your shop like any other tool and use it when you have a finishing problem. It is that kind of a reference.

Tage Frid Teaches Woodworking ...is a classic , very practical....very helpful
