My new Delta 46-460 lathe is being shipped. Now building a heavy, basic utility bench for it. Found a lot of bench plans and pics online and have decided on a combination of features to include in my bench ... mostly from this one -- http://www.cranialstorage.com/wood/lathe_stand.html#auto_top

Have looked unsuccessfully online (SMC, Delta specs & online user manual, etc) to get following lathe dimensions to enable me to finish the bench before the lathe arrives:

1) Vertical height from spindle centerline to bottom of lathe base:

2) Horizontal length from left end lathe base mounting holes to right end mounting holes:

3) Horizontal length from front lathe base mounting holes to rear mounting holes on left and on right ends of the lathe:

Thanks in advance for your help as it will enable me to have the bench ready when the lathe arrives.

Thanks.

Tom

Tom, most of this data has been posted in other threads, but I find doing an Advanced Google search much easier than using the search function of SMC. This thread (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?129816-Delta-46-460-w-bed-ext.-need-some-dimensions)is one. There are a couple of others, and if I locate them, I will post them.

John,

Good ... got the needed info from the thread you provided:

Steve Mawson said ... "Lathe is 31 1/8" long. Bolt holes are 3/8" and are set back from each end by 1/2" to the center of the hole. If my math is right that would make the holes 30 1/8" on center for the length. Lathe is 7 1/8" wide, holes are 3 1/8" on center and equidistant from the out side edges on both ends. This would make the holes 2" in from front and back. Castings for the foot are about 1/2" thick for hold down bolt length. "

Joe Little said ... "The spindle is 14.5 inches from table top."

So, that's the info I was looking for.

Thanks.

Tom
