I'm currently building a downdraft table similar to Terry Hatfield's (http://www.terryhatfield.com/dd_table.html). I'm building mine to be approximately 24" x 48". I'm wondering about the size on the connecting hose. It would be more convenient to use 4" hose than 6" due to the placement of my existing ductwork, but will I get sufficient airflow to make the box work well?

Matt,

It will work with 4" but you can get twice the flow in 6" you can get in 4". This is one instance that you need all the flow you can get. I would do the 6" if there is any way. It will really make a tremendous difference in the performance of the box.

Terry's right. Use the 6" if at all possible.
