I had reported that my new/old Craftsman jointer had a snipe problem. I found that the infeed and outfeed tables were parallel, so I lowered the blade adjustment screws one-half turn. That took care of the snipe, however, I may have to raise them one quarter turn. It feels like the blades are not contacting the full length of the board when edge jointing. The edge seems to be straight, but only more testing will tell.

Dan -

Seems that your adjustment may have done it. You said you are getting a straight edge, right? Have you put two jointed edges face to face? Any gap? That will be twice the error. Might want to leave it alone for a while.

Ted

Dan,

I just did some fine tuning of my Grizzly jointer and all is well. I read, and it was true in my case, that snipe at the end of the board - outfeed table is too low, snipe at the beginning - outfeed table is too high. -Steve
