Hello All,
just before it's too late this year...
a last piece:
it's cherry 150 high x 95mm dia
This piece has another name. I don't dare choose for title.
When I was turning, it seems to me like a torso with cleavage and decapited too
and for this reason I thought of Queen Marie-Antoinette...
but for convenience, I'll name Anne Boleyn, it's same fate but more out your history.

Very nice work Lionel! Great form and I really like how you undercut the carving! Gives it so much more dimension! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful Lionel! Is this piece carved by hand or with power equipment or with a combination? I have got to try one of these!

Indeed very nice!
Nudity or its references in art are usually dismissed regarding vulgarity, infact they are embraced. I see your reference and also that of a shoulder being exposed. Very elegant.

I like the smooth lines, it is as though the bottom is embracing a vessel inside. Looks like something Trent Bosch would turn.

The carving really makes the piece. Nice flowing lines. It does have a refined feminine look. Great job!!

So how long did that work of art take Lionel? I'm guessing you turned to the widest point then pulled that out of the bag. That's a great tutorial in the making!! Oh yeah..Very well done sir!!

Lionel, this one is very nice! The grain seems to follow the form, and the undercut carving is well done. Excellent piece!

Hello All
Thanks for your comments
@ Tom: it's combination: turning, power carving & hand carving/sanding
@ Jim: Turning the outside, the upper neck and hollowing. Then penciling the shape and carving it with a burr.
Widen this with a little rasp (Corradi) in order to positition the 1/4 router bit (router strenghten on the banjo)
move the piece by hand on the desired way and you get a "like turned shape"
have a look at:

it's more explicit. and behind I join two pictures more, hope this helpfull
