View Full Version : Small knot cracks - repair?

This forum has been very helpful to me to learn about what to use to fill knots in wood.

The one thing that I am still unsure about is whether you HAVE to fill a knot (with a crack) if it is relatively small. Is it likely that the crack would continue to grow? I intend to either fill or patch the knots, but I wonder if small ones can be left alone. See the attached pic of a small knot in walnut for an example.

No, the crack will not continue to grow in this case associated with a knot. Your decision to fill or not will be aesthetic.
