Hi,

I am looking at purchasing a "new" used table saw and found a jet JWTS-10 for $300. The saw appears to be in immaculate condition but I was curious if anyone has an idea of the saw's age based on the color? Based on what I could find, Jet switched to the ivory somewhere around 1999. Is it worth purchasing a saw that is 10-15 years old?

Thanks,

Aaron

I have this very saw in blue, purchased new in 1995. I've been very happy with it overall. Does it have the sheet metal wings or cast iron? C.I. is a real bonus. Best improvement was the addition of a interlocking drive belt. Much smoother and quieter. Try to get owner's manual if possible. Dust control isn't very good as delivered although can be improved. I say go for it.

Bought mine in 1990. I find the motor to be a little under powered, but I think you'd find this true of any 1-1/2hp table saw. I beefed mine up with a vega fence and a PALS from Inline Industries. The PALS have made it much easier to align the trunion.
