Haven't posted much of late. Wintery weather in Maine gave me time today to finish up this bowl. Comments/critiques welcomed. Kieran

I like the simple, sturdy form. The rim treatment fits perfectly. Nice finish and a beautiful, interesting piece of wood. Nicely done!

Kieran, the form on this bowl is very "comfortable." It begs to be held and used. And, the wood ....... fantastic!!! Just beautiful! Great combination, and a nice setting, as well. Looks like it has a home.

My only thing is...what about the bowl!? What are the dimensions? What finish did you use? What's the foot look like? How'd you do such a nice job? What's your favorite Ice cream?:D:D It looks great...shape, rim...all well done:cool:

That is some marbling in the wood. I really think the rim sets the tone for the whole bowl. All works great together.

Thanks to all for the kind comments. I have attached an additional photo of the bottom. Finish is Watco natural. Dimensions are 3" h X 7" diameter.

As others have said, all of you have been a great inspiration for me. As I was reading the posts lately, I had to reread John Keeton's post about six times to actually determine he had only been turning one year! I assumed from the pictures he posts, it has been a life long passion. Just incredible.

As I switch between flat and round work, I will hope to post more pictures. Just ordered a Monster articulated system for my 3520B. Hope to get some hollow frmsms done. Thanks to Steve for his excellent tutorial he did several years ago.

What a beautiful bowl... I think I've heard these referred to as 'fondlers' 'cause you just want to pick them up and fondle them. I hope you stay on the round side for a while, so that we can see some more beautiful work from you.

Kieran,
Stunning piece of cherry and used beautifully. Are you folks getting the worst of that storm that skirted eastern PA yesterday. We missed the big volume of snow but got amazing winds. I saw white out today in a local highway. The weather man sounded like NE was going to really get hammered. Snuggle up in your shop and make more great bowls. Be warm and safe.
