Try saying that three times real fast. A friend sent me this Banksia Pod from the land of Oz (Australia). I spent some time trying to figure out what the heck it was--- a seed pod. Ok now what was I going to do with it. I done a search and all I could find was one guy who made a weed pot.
When I drilled the center ---the thing tryed to fall apart on me. So I drilled a small hole and started from there.
I mounted it in a scroll chuck and a jig to hold the end with the small hole in it.
Next came the mess--- the pod is mostly fiber it felt like I was just riping apart.
After working for about a 30 minutes this is what I came up with.
It is different --so it's sitting in my living room.
