My wife is getting a new sewing room and looking at cutting tables and such for the room. I did a search for cutting tables and sewing room furniture and did not come up with very much on the creek.

Does anyone have some pictures or plans for sewing room equipment?

(The wife got a new sewing room and I got an addition to my shop. She got more space but I am very happy with the shop addition and the upgrade to the electrics.)

Hi Larry,
I'm almost done with the first version of a sewing table for my wife. It's white melamine with bb ply drawers. I used melamine to be sure that we had laid out the dimensions correctly for both ergonomic factors and the sewing machine itself. It's OK, but there are a few things that I overlooked. After she uses it for a while we're going to look at building something a little nicer.

While researching, I looked all over the web for nice sewing desks / cabinets. There's not much out there (as I'm sure you know...).
One of the few nice looking pieces I found:

If you're interested, I've got some sewing table plans from one of the woodworking magazines. PM me and we can discuss how to share that info.

I've also got a few concepts working for a cuttign table. Again, it's white melamine until we're sure of the function and size.

I hope this link works. My wife decided on buying a Kola table becaus it collapsed into such a neat little stack. It souldnds like you may not need to "compact", but you may find some ideas looking at this website.

I built a custom sewing table for my wife a couple of years ago. The plan is based off of my wife's design and the biggest thing we customized was lowered the overall height of the table to make it more comfortable for her. You can see pictures of the units here:

Let me know if you have any questions.

A friend of my wife works for this company.
Be sure to check out both product lines: Arrow and Kangaroo
You might get some ideas from the photos on this site or maybe even decide to buy ready-made.
