175113This is my latest piece in my journey in negative space design. In the past my pieces were patterned and reptitively patterend. I wanted this time to make something more erratic and eye-popping. This turning is not for the faint of heart. A delicate touch was needed, so it did not spin into 100's of little projectiles. This morning when I got up, I got a great Christmas present! This piece made picture of the Day at WOW. Now that's a great Christmas morning.!! Hope Santa found you & left turning tools, and no argyle socks, ties, or coal! Happy holidays

Merry Christmas Michelle,

That is an exquisite work! Not standard turning fare for sure.............is certainly speaks "artistic" and you must have a lot of hours in it for sure. Congratulations on the WOW cover! No argyle socks here! ;)

Michelle, I've really enjoyed watching what you're doing with the negative space concept. This one is definitely my favorite so far. I wouldn't mind knowing the process you used. I'm guessing there was some router work prior to the turning. Just and incredible interesting piece of art and truly "eye popping". And Merry Christmas back to you!

I can believe it made picture of the day on WOW! What an intricate piece, I like the randomness aspect of it, reflect the beauty of nature combining the symmetry of patterns, but the uniqueness of everything being different.

Beautiful piece. Thanks to your thread title, I now have Frank Sinatra singing in my head.
