I have a nutty idea. I'm thinking it would be neat to make a solid-body guitar from olive wood. I'm religious, and you can imagine what a great conversation piece it would be.
Can anyone tell me if this stuff is suitable for this kind of work? I think I'd probably use olive on the top and back and fill the middle with something that would set it off. Maybe ebony would work!
I found a couple of big pieces on the web. The sellers warn about checking, irregularities, and instability.
