Looks like Bak-Aik tree to me. Common in most of the Northern Tier states.

now that is just too cool! :cool: I wonder how long it took them to stack it just right to get that picture? :eek: My firewood pile is not nearly that pretty!:o

That is a really cool wood pile. The only flaw in the over all scheme is that it would be real hard to cut a real tree off that square with an ax.

It's clearly from the woodpile strain, you can tell that from the logend leaves. They are one of the best trees for firewood. But a lot of good "chunks" can be saved for turning, for some reason you can't get very big pieces out of them. I hear they're easy to cut up, allmost like stacking wood.
