Here are two more gifts I turned this morning. In the foreground we have a cherry awl with compression nut ferrule. The pin is made of 3/16" W1 round stock and ground to shape, I leave the temper colors on there so I know what I did.
The background piece is called a broomstick lace knitting needle, it measures 1" diameter and 14" long. The body is maple, and the cap purplehart, there is a friction fit between the cap and body so it can be removed if need be. I wanted to thread the two together, but I haven't finished grinding my inside thread chaser yet.
