I needed one more candy dish for a Christmas gift so I scrambled this one out tonight. It's just been oiled and wiped down so far (might be all it gets). But I posted it because I liked how the bottom turned out. It sort of looks like the wood is stretched over a bowl form. It's about 12" corner to corner.

Very nice... It's not often that I see a form that looks as good upside down as it does right side up.

That's really neat. I wish I could turn something like that out "in a hurry" ...

Very nice Curt. I have a soft spot for winged bowls. You are right the bottom really has a wonderful curve. Like the NE feel from the top as well. I would not have guessed it was as large. Nice gift.

Very pretty Curt! I don't believe I have seen one done just like this. I like the way the corners curve up. That and the color give it a very warm look. Looks like it warped but if you just finished it, that must not be the case.

Someone is going to like that Curt, looks real nice and I can see what your talking about being stretched, pretty cool. Really nice work for a rush job. I'm trying to rush out some pens myself, wish me luck, not my favorite to turn though.

I like that! And I agree it looks like a mold!

Curt, agreed on the bottom, but the top stands out very nice as well! The curvature and the sweeping curve up into the rim, coupled with the very smooth interior makes this a winner.

You get hold of some beautiful walnut - it always has such deep color. Well done!!

Curt for a quick one that is beautiful. I agree the bottom is nice and really flows with the bowl.

Quick or time consuming, either one, it is a beautiful piece and will be well received for Christmas ...Bill...

I always like it how people can "whip" something out like that! It would take me hours to make that and I'm sure it wouldn't turn out nearly as nice!

Very nice looking bowl and I love the colors....

Beautiful bowl Curt, I really like the raised lip at the top of the bowl and the concave wing. Nicely done

Add me to the list of those who like the upswept wings. But I especially like the way the wings transition into the rim of the bowl. Nicely done.
