Bench Dog: PL1002 vs 40-016

Over the years, Bench Dog has made few changes to their router lifts. Some improve the product, others seemingly are done to improve profit margin. Can anyone tell me the differences between the earlier models PL1002 and 40-016.

Over the years, Bench Dog has made few changes to their router lifts. Some improve the product, others seemingly are done to improve profit margin. Can anyone tell me the differences between the earlier models PL1002 and 40-016.

I have the PL1002 which is the best one out there and I think the 40-016 is the same, both are cast iron with metal insert rings.
