Does anybody have a good source for soft white pine suitable for carving decoys? I have cruised the net and see several sources but they did not impress me with price and selection and shipping options. Thanks.

not too sure about pine - carvers i know use a lot of tupelo wood.

I used to use a lot of white pine on hollow-body decoys. Works quite well if it is good clear pine that's truly dry. But I always bought from a local sawmill. Once they knew what I was looking for it was easy. The decoy carving stores are great for tools, but pricey on wood.
I'd check SMC threads for sawmills near you.
