I recently bought some slat for some turkey calls. I finally got all the pen orders filled and decided to have some ME time in the shop. The striker and the slate call are made from cocobolo. They are sanded to 400 grit, friction polish and Hut polish. I didn't get the holes as neat as I wanted but for the most part I like it. Comments welcome. Russell

Looks good. How does it sound with the cocobolo striker? Been thinking about making a striker of cocobolo or tulipwood to go along with the latest pot that I made of tulipwood.

Hey Clint, the striker sounds better than the call. The call doesn't have the "rasp" that it should, it is more of a flat tone. I tried the striker on a manufactured call and it was fine. Thanks for posting. Russell
